Tom Clancy's The Division Resurgence is bringing back the iconic Dark Zone

Ubisoft has some big guns ready for mobile as some of its most popular titles like Rainbow Six and Tom Clancy’s The Division are receiving original mobile games. The Division Resurgence began its closed alpha test a few weeks ago and pretty much everyone was wondering about the Dark Zone and a PvP mode.

Fans of the franchise will already know what the Dark Zone is, a cordoned-off area in Manhattan, which was used to stop the viral spread. It is a region full of contamination, rival factions, and a tonne of loot. It is a high-risk-high-reward zone, where players must tread with immense caution.

And now, the Dark Zone will be making its way to The Division Resurgence. In the mobile port, the DZ will be present as a session-based activity. Groups of four can enter this region and while soloing here is possible, players will always be matched with others who are potentially in groups and will have the same activities. Like the original game, the DZ in resurgence is highly dangerous, with players needing masks at all times.

However, these masks will not be the saving grace in the Dark Zone. They will provide minor protection for a short period. After that, the Green Poison infection will increase at a rapid pace. A timer will be present to inform players of how long they have left to extract the loot and escape. Only the most efficient way will allow players to get rewarded for the risk they are taking.

Teamwork is a great way to survive in this zone but players also have the opportunity of going rogue. Agents have the option of choosing to go AWOL, allowing them to target other players, while also putting a target on their backs. If being the bad guy isn’t your thing, then the option of giving up the Rogue status is always there.
