Rainbow Six Mobile release date and everything else we know
Everyone who's seen the title can already picture what we're about to dive into in today's article. And no, it's not a late April Fool's joke, it's a fact. Rainbow Six has officially been confirmed on mobile, and it's every bit as exciting, just like the other games in the franchise.
By now it's impossible not to have heard of Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six franchise since it's one of the biggest, most exhilarating experiences for FPS enthusiasts on PC and console. Rainbow Six Mobile now brings that experience to mobile too, with all its signature features, from highly trained Operators to destructible environments and lots of tactical planning.
In this article, you can find everything you need to know about Rainbow Six Mobile including the release date, so if you want to know what to expect from the game (and most importantly, WHEN to expect it), then you're in the right place. We're going to share all the key information you need in order to help you get ready to roll!
What is Rainbow Six Mobile?Let's start with the basics. If you're not familiar with the game, then I'll give you a quick walkthrough. In Rainbow Six Mobile you'll find a tactical FPS, similar to Apex Legends, Fortnite, Valorant, and Overwatch, where you can join one of two sides (Attack or Defense) and strategise with your other teammates in order to win the most rounds.
Classic games are usually the best of three (Bo3), but there will be multiple game modes that can all have a different approach.
Each player will pick one Operator that features a unique set of abilities and gadgets, and join four other players in fast-paced, 5v5 intense battles that require quick thinking and swift reflexes. Players can set traps, destroy walls and ceilings and build various structures in order to help their team achieve victory.
Rainbow Six Mobile release dateYou probably want to know when Rainbow Six Mobile is coming out, and while we don't have a set date, we do know that Rainbow Six Mobile will be released in 2022.
Based on the release date of some of the previous Rainbow Six games (except for Rainbow Six Extraction which was out earlier this year), we can also guess that it will come in the second half of the year.
However, if we were to guess, we'd say somewhere between November-December. Let's hope we won't have to wait that long though. We'll make sure to keep you updated whenever we learn something new, so stay tuned!
Who is developing Rainbow Six Mobile?Ubisoft is the company that will publish Rainbow Six Mobile.
When you think about Ubisoft and the games they released, chances are Rainbow Six is one of them (Rainbow Six Siege, Rainbow Six Vegas). Some of their most well-known games include Assassin's Creed, Watch Dogs, and Far Cry, as well as some mobile-exclusive titles, such as Clash of Beasts, City of Love: Paris, The Mighty Quest for Epic Loot (which is truly awesome and you need to try it!) and many others.
Which platform will Rainbow Six Mobile be available on?It's been confirmed that Rainbow Six Mobile will be available on both iOS and Android.
How is the mobile version different from the PC/console one?In order to adapt to the fast-paced mobile gameplay, R6M will feature shorter matches. If we see a game lasting between 15 to 30 minutes (and anywhere in between, sometimes even more), on mobile my guess would be a match lasting between 10 to 15, with a maximum of 20 minutes.
We've seen something similar in League of Legends: Wild Rift, which has games lasting for a similar length of time (while PC ones last slightly longer).
Another difference we could expect but has not been confirmed yet is the map. While in the PC/console version maps and environments can be massive, in Rainbow Six Mobile we can expect some of these features to be slightly toned down. What about similar features?
In terms of similarities between the PC/console and mobile version, you can expect the following:
- Multiple game modes
- Destructible environments
- The popular Operators that you're already familiar with
- The same iconic maps, albeit with little tweaks adapted to mobile
- Customisable Operators and weapons
Is there an R6M beta?So far we don't know about beta testing or beta access to R6M, but we'll let you know as soon as we have news. Currently, the game is still in the pre-alpha stage.
Will Rainbow Six Mobile be free?Ubisoft has confirmed that Rainbow Six Mobile will be a free-to-play game. Is there a Battlepass in R6M?
Now that we mentioned IAPs, it's probably a good idea to also talk about the battle pass. We know from Rainbow Six Siege that it already features one, so it's safe to say that R6M will probably include this too.
That's all that we have for now when it comes to the Rainbow Six Mobile release date and the rest you need to know. Of course, you should take a quick look at the Apex Legends Mobile release date, as we have more info regarding that one.
