Pokemon Go's Noxious Swamp event brings Pokemon from the NYC fest to everyone around the world
We’re only two weeks into August, but it’s probably been the most action-packed month in Pokémon Go this year. From the 2023 Pokémon World Championships that conclude today to the much-awaited Pokémon Go Fest celebration, trainers have had it all. The festival is going to New York in a few days, but that doesn’t mean players worldwide will miss out.
Pokémon Go Fest New York will take place between August 18th and 20th, with multiple events happening at Randall’s Island Park and throughout the city as well. How do trainers outside the Bigg Apple enjoy this? That’s where Niantic’s Noxious Swamp event comes in, which will feature a few poison and dragon-type Pokémon from the NYC celebration.
Noxious Swamp is similar to the Glittering Garden event, which allowed players from all over the world to catch exclusive Pokémon found only during the Osaka and London legs of Pokémon Go Fest 2023. It will run from 10:00 am on August 19th, to 8:00 pm local time on the 22nd.
During this period, a number of themed Pokémon like Zubat, Venonat, Tentacool, Dratini, Axew, Nobat, and Skorupi will appear more frequently in the wild. But the one players should keep their eyes out for is Shiny Skrelp, who is making its Pokémon Go debut as part of the event.
Raid battles will also feature similar Pokémon, such as Druddigon, Grimer, Weezing, and Turtonator. Other Pokémon like Sneasel, Onix, Pidove, and Houndour will be part of Shadow Raids. On top of that, there are several Field Research and Timed Research to participate in, which grant additional rewards.Speaking of rewards, here’s a list of this month’s redeemable Pokémon Go codes!
Finally, trainers can also take advantage of a few event bonuses like 2x Catch Candy, extra encounters with Team Go Rocket balloons, and an extra Raid Pass per day.
