Heartopia teams up with Dave the Diver for a sushi-packed collaboration event

• Heartopia is teaming with none other than Dave the Diver
• The new collab sees you helping Dave recover his lost diving equipment
• Trade in Dive Valves for exciting cosmetics and other goodies at the event store

It would seem that it's something of a red-letter day for fans of Mintrocket's Dave the Diver. Not only has it been confirmed that the upcoming mobile release will have all DLC available to buy at launch, but Dave the Diver is also teaming up with none other than XD Games' Heartopia!

The event, running from now until September 7th, sees Dave washed up in the world of Heartopia. And it's up to you, the player, to help recover his lost equipment so he can make his way back home. You'll have the opportunity to explore a brand-new ocean map, as well as gather the necessary dive valves (the event currency) from other activities such as ocean cleanup.

Emergency dive

As you might expect, those Dive Valves can then be redeemed at the event shop (open until September 10th) to grab plenty of crossover items such as Dave's diving gear and various new dishes inspired by those served up at Bancho's sushi restaurant in Dave the Diver.

I can't necessarily see a huge amount of crossover between fans of Dave the Diver's more arcadey, RPG-like gameplay and the relatively laid-back life-sim world of Heartopia, but it does show that Mintrocket are eager to publicise Dave and his adventures ahead of the impending mobile launch.

And this collaboration only makes me eye Dave the Diver's mobile version even more closely. For such a hit game to build this kind of hype could be a sign of things to come. So be sure to keep your eyes peeled to see how this all pans out on release on September 17th, and dive into the collab before it wraps on September 7th!
