We are glad to see you on our Free Fire pistols guide! We’ll only have a sniper rifle guide to cover after this one, and you can expect it in a few days!

In case you missed our previous Free Fire weapon guides, here they are:

Let’s go through a brief history of pistols, shall we? The pistols or handguns date all the way back to the middle of the 16th century. Who would have guessed, right?

They were of course single-shot flintlocks, so you’d have to charge them after each shot. Then the first revolver came to pass somewhere around the 1850s and it changed the course of history forever. Later on, the revolvers passed the torch on the semi-automatic pistols which are made and used even in the modern-day.

But how good are the pistols in Free Fire?

Darn good at the beginning of the round! However, when the round starts developing, time passes and players get more gear, better weapons, pistols become obsolete. Most of them, not all. They are a good sidearm to carry, as you can run much faster with one of these equipped than with one of your main firearms.

So, they might not be your first choice later on, but they are exceptionally fun to use! Since developers kicked in a few surprises, they are not all the same, nor they have the same playstyle. It only increases the fun part, trust me.

Of course, you won’t have the same playstyle with a Treatment Gun, M500, M1873 or just a regular USP. That’s why we are here to cover everything in this pistols guide! Of course, at the end of the article, you can read our two cents on the best pistol in Free Fire.

But let’s not waste time, dive into the list!

Treatment Gun - pistols guide

free fire pistols guide - treatment gun

Imagine having something like this. You can heal people and kill people with one squeeze of the trigger. There was a CIA project in the 1970s where they made a gun that shot freezing water and contained some jellyfish poison if I’m not mistaken. The poison caused heart attacks, killing a victim and the victim would only have a small sting somewhere in the body because ice would melt. Now imagine if we had a healing gun that fixed injuries and all sorts of conditions instead. Awesome, huh?

The Treatment Gun is integral in case you are playing in a team. Being able to heal someone so quickly is really important. Especially since in Free Fire you can make gloo walls and hide while you get healed.

Of course, you can’t heal yourself which is kinda funny when you think about it. No game enables you to shoot yourself, even for healing purposes.

M500 - pistols guide

free fire pistols guide - M500

The weapon was clearly made by the Smith & Wesson and it’s called Model 500. I highly recommend going to Youtube and listening to the sound that this gun makes when you fire a shot. Chills.

One of the Free Fire pistols on the list that was clearly made for fun. It comes with a built-in scope by default. Yes, a scope. Most handguns are unacceptably bad when you try to shoot at something that’s 20 meters away or more. M500 begs for the opponents to be in between 20 and 50 meters so you can actually use the scope, and since the rate of fire is bad, you need to make all the shots count. It’s kinda hard to do this in closer range. When it comes to damage, the weapon is great when you manage to hit.

To sum up - use it in a different manner than the other pistols, it’s much better at mid to long-range.

M1873 - pistols guide

free fire M1873 guide

To be honest, I’m not informed if this weapon ever existed. I know about the M1887, which we covered in our shotguns guide, and although it looks similar, that’s not it. M1873 is the Winchester repeater rifle, so this might be one of the airsoft handguns. If you know what model they used, please leave a comment, I’m interested.

So, this is actually a shotgun, huh? But it’s in the Free Fire pistols list, so we’ll write a guide here.

I’d say that M1873 might be one of the best sidearms you can carry. It should be paired with a long range option, of course, you don’t want to pair it with SMG or another shotgun. One precise shot to the head, or one shot to an opponent’s body if you’ve already made a shot with a sniper rifle, and your enemy is toasted.

Take note that the pistol does require some skill to use it.

USP - pistols guide

free fire pistols guide - USP

USP is the first proper handgun in this guide. It is made by Heckler and Koch, and it’s a pistol known for its quality, reliability and unfortunately, high price.

USP is a gun that you can use only as a sidearm or at the beginning of the round. There is no way you can get Booyah using it unless your opponents are blind tribal women with hands tied behind their backs. Any weapon in the game will overpower you, so use it only as the last resort. It does have some attachments, but this won’t help much.

G18 guide

free fire pistols guide - G18

G18 is considered to be one of the best handguns ever made. Its quality is legendary, but what really pushes him close to the throne is the automatic fire. This weapon has the same rate of fire as the MG42 that germans used. So, a handgun with a rate of fire of a machine gun.

Glock G18 is the only pistol in Free Fire with fully automatic fire. As the rest of the stats are comparable to USP, but little cranked up this weapon becomes a viable option even later in the game. Especially when you take into account its rate of fire. Still, I don’t advise using it as a main weapon, only as a sidearm.

  • RATE OF FIRE: 64

Desert Eagle guide

free fire pistols guide - desert eagle

Being different pays off, even if you are useless, right? Well, that’s the case with Desert Eagle. It’s an expensive handgun that can only be used for target practice, or eventually handgun hunting. The weapon has only seven rounds, huge caliber, and hence the recoil. This is why it can’t be used in any type of military or police.

However, no one says you can’t have fun with it in the game. One of the handguns I had the most fun with (and still do), deserves a special mention in our Free Fire pistols guide! Yes, other weapons like G18 are better, but games are all about fun. I love the fact that developers added silencers to both M500 and Desert Eagle as a gimmick!

You can use the Desert Eagle in Free Fire much easier than M500 for example. It has better accuracy, and the range is similar, so you might just be able to hit someone with it! It is one of the deadliest weapons in the game, but you need to make sure that every shot counts!

  • DAMAGE: 90
  • RATE OF FIRE: 33
  • RANGE: 74
  • RELOAD SPEED: 69
  • MAGAZINE: 7
  • ACCURACY: 45
  • MOVEMENT SPEED: 76

Hand Cannon - pistols guide

free fire hand cannon guide

Interesting choice, to add a grenade launcher to the pistols category. But if the devs can add it, so can we. So, welcome to the Free Fire pistols guide with launchers!

Basically, if you read our guide about launchers you’ll know how to use this. It’s a great option to kick a few of those when you know your enemy is hidden behind a cover to lure him out and then down him with your primary weapon. It’s also a nice choice when he tries to hide behind a cover, as you can easily finish him off with a Hand Cannon.

  • DAMAGE: 90

  • RANGE: 10
  • RELOAD SPEED: 62

What’s the best pistol in Free Fire?

The best pistol in Free Fire is an M1873! Although it’s not that simple, as most of them are situational. However, if you are using pistols as a sidearm (the way you are supposed to use them), I don’t have a pinch of doubt that M1871 is the right choice.

When I was 6 y/o, my gaming journey began on Amiga 600. That’s where the Worms, The Secret of Monkey Island, Lemmings and many other legendary games made their first appearance. People say: “you can’t find games like that anymore”, but I beg to differ. Anyway, you can still see the same passion and zoning out whenever I’m doing something I like, including my lifelong passion – gaming. I’m currently doing a different line of work, SEO Management and writing, but when the time allows I get into the games I love and spend some peaceful hours. If friends are playing with me, it’s even merrier.
