Free Fire LMG guide is another step to our full coverage of every weapon in the game! There aren’t many LMGs in the game. Only two in this category, although theoretically there are 3. We’ll cover both of them and leave the third one in the AR category, as the developers decided it’s an assault rifle. Their game, their rules!

LMG is short for “light machine gun”, or the machine gun that can be used by a single soldier. It doesn’t require a crew for handling and recharging. The ones that have a bipod or tripod can also be used as medium machine guns. Oddly enough, the first LMG was made in Denmark in 1883! It was called the Madsen machine gun, look it up.

Anyway, in Free Fire LMGs are weapons that can be used all the way until the end of the round. They are reliable both in terms of damage and range. Other good reasons to use them would be their range and the rate of fire which is outstanding. But the main reason players love them is that you probably won’t have to reload once during the whole round!

Another interesting fact is that you can’t fit any attachments at each of them, so there is no room for improvement of the weapon. However, this is not necessary as they are both more than viable in their default state.

Every good Free Fire crew should have at least one LMG, as he can suppress the opponents to one spot, basically pinning them for the rest of his team. It’s up to them whether they’ll try to flank and destroy the enemy or throw them a few grenades and make a nice barbecue.

So, let’s compare them!

Gatling

free fire best LMGs guide- gatling

Gatling gun has specific gameplay in Free Fire. It reminds me of the Terminator 2 movie, where you can see Arnold sweeping left and right with it, wreaking havoc all around. By the way, you can also see another weapon from Free Fire in the video, the M79 grenade launcher we covered!

Garena developers did a very nice job of representing the cumbersome movement, as the real thing weighs up to 40 kilos! With it, you’ll move around really slowly, and you’ll be an easy target for enemy snipers. So, play with it only in a team, as it will be pretty hard to run around through the map solo using that thing and not get picked off.

However, when the fight starts, you can just press your trigger and start shooting towards the enemy, not having to worry about running low on ammo. Don’t let go until they all stop moving. After all, you have 1200 bullets to spend!

Once again, Gatling is horrible in a solo queue.

M249

free fire best LMGs guide - M249

M249 is a model of a modern LMG, and a lot of people will think about it when you mention that sort of weapon. It’s made and used in the US, and it had a lot of appearances throughout the gaming world. Many will recognize it from iconic games like Counter-Strike and Battlefield.

In Garena Free Fire, M249 can only be obtained through an airdrop, so it’s pretty rare. However, when you get your hands on it the first time it’ll be love at first sight. It’s accurate, has 100 rounds magazine and it has an excellent range. Without a pinch of doubt, this is one of the best weapons in the game.

More importantly, it won’t slow you down as the Gatling does, so you can use it in the solo queue freely.

Best LMG in Free Fire

No doubt that the flattering title of the best LMG in Free Fire belongs to the M249! It is much more versatile than Gatling, as it doesn’t slow you down, and you still have more than enough bullets to shoot freely and not worry about running short of ammo.

When I was 6 y/o, my gaming journey began on Amiga 600. That’s where the Worms, The Secret of Monkey Island, Lemmings and many other legendary games made their first appearance. People say: “you can’t find games like that anymore”, but I beg to differ. Anyway, you can still see the same passion and zoning out whenever I’m doing something I like, including my lifelong passion – gaming. I’m currently doing a different line of work, SEO Management and writing, but when the time allows I get into the games I love and spend some peaceful hours. If friends are playing with me, it’s even merrier.
