Garena Free Fire is not only one of the hottest mobile games out there, but one of the biggest games available period. It's also one of the most streamed games in the world, regularly ranking around the top 40 on Twitch Tracker, which monitors the popularity of games on the streaming platform.

It's also one of the few major battle royale games that is exclusive to mobile. But, in Free Fire, the goal is pretty simple, as with most Battle Royale titles. You drop into a massive open world and try to survive until you're the last player standing.

It's slightly different in that you're going up against 49 other players instead of the usual 100, which makes the matches a bit faster. There's another mode aside from this called Clash, and it boasts a more traditional shooter concept and it's good fun. Two teams of four duke it in a best of seven matches and you earn cash after each round to purchase weapons. Here are a few tips to help you in this intense mode.

Keep an Eye on Your Map

As we talked about, in Clash mode in Garena Free Fire, is a four versus four experience. And since it is a team event, sometimes it's a good idea to stay near a teammate. But, if you feel like you want to separate and move around solo for a bit, then tread carefully.

If you feel it's best, then definitely do it, but just be aware that the other squad may move in groups too and will overpower you. One way to keep up with everything is by paying attention to the map in the top left corner of the screen. You may be doing this already, but it's important.

You'll see a red arrow appear on the map, indicating an enemy's location. This arrow will only appear very briefly and will pop up again when the enemy sits still. Of course, sometimes you'll just run into them without using the map, but if you want to plan your next move more strategically, definitely keep an eye on the old map.

Make Smart Purchases

An aspect that's a bit of a signature feature in Free Fire's Clash mode is the ability to purchase weapons and gear before each round. This is very similar to how VALORANT plays out too. In the first round, you can only purchase one of two pistols, but as you go through rounds, you'll earn more money. This will let you buy more gear.

So, when it comes to that point, pick your gear wisely. If you spend too much on the secondary items, you may not have much left to work with to get some good guns. Now, in the late rounds (such as round six or seven), you'll be able to buy at least three, quality items (a top tier gun, the best armour, and a special healing item).

Your best bet is to pick your gun first. If you can save enough money to at least get yourself the basic armour, then that's a plus. Also, a grenade might come in handy as well and they're cheap. You can also hold two at a time so you can buy two if you have the money.

Lay Low at The Right Times

In Free Fire's Clash mode, you'll be playing on pretty small maps so there aren't too many places to go but there is enough. Some areas have things like tall grass and giant containers. These are good places to go and crouch if you want.

You can go all the way to the ground and crawl through these spots like a snake. This may make harder for enemies to notice you. This, even if they see a red arrow on their map, they may not spot you right away, and this will allow you to pounce.

Of course, this doesn't mean guaranteed success, but if you like approaching things in a more stealthy manner, then you can definitely do this. Sometimes, just a basic crouch can throw off opponents, as they may expect you to be standing.
