Another week is winding down, but we've still got time to make sure you're up to date with everything that's been happening recently in the world of mobile gaming. We do it because we care, and because it's our job. That said, it's been a pretty damn interesting week if you're a fan of games that fit easily inside your pocket.

We've seen the return of a legend with some new technology, a sports-based take on Clash Royale that really, really works, as well as some other brilliant new releases. We've got you covered with all of the cheats and tips that you need, all of the reviews that are worth reading, and all of the videos that your eyes are begging for. Okay maybe not begging for, but you get the gist.

This isn't the only way to make sure that you're not missing out on anything important. Make sure you follow us on Twitter, and become our friend on Facebook. You won't just get the best content first that way, you'll also be in with a chance to win one of the many competitions we run (not to spoil anything but we're going to be running a pretty awesome one next week).

If you think we've missed anything out of our round-up, do let us know in the comments section at the bottom of the article. Or just drop us one of the swanky new emoji reaction things that you can do now - because that's the future I imagine. Oh, and make sure you come back next week to ensure you're not missing out on a single slice of interesting mobile gaming information.

Right, that's all of the preamble covered, let's get on with all of the biggest news, reviews, videos, and opinions from the last seven days in the world of mobile gaming.

1
The best new releases

It's been another solid week for new games coming out for iOS and Android. It's hard to pick just one stand-out release, so instead, just like every week, we've picked out what we think are the 5 best new games that have come to mobile over the last seven days.

In other news, the early access program for The Elder Scrolls: Blades has been expanded. All you need to do to get on now is to have a Bethesda.net account - something you can set up by clicking here, or from directly in the game. Check out what we thought of our time with The Elder Scrolls: Blades by clicking here before you download it though.

The best reviews

"Even if you don't like soccer (or football), there's a very good chance you'll love the frantic action in Rumble Stars Soccer." So said our reviewer in their handsome write up of Rumble Stars Soccer. It's a pretty great game, although it's got a few problems that keep it from true greatness.

Elsewhere, we called Bombastic Brothers "a bright and noisy action platformer that, apart from a few little problems, is really, really good." What are those problems? Click here to read our Bombastic Brothers review and find out.

The best tips, tricks, and cheats

Dave is taking a little time off from his crippling The Elder Scrolls: Blades addiction, which is good because we were getting a bit worried about him. This week he's been hanging out in the 80s with The VideoKid, and he's written this list of every character that you can unlock in the game.

It's been a sport heavy week for our Dave actually, because he's also been laying down some hard truths about how to get the most out of multiplayer golf-'em-up PGA Tour Golf Shootout.

And if that wasn't enough we've also written this handy guide to joining the Pocket Gamer club in Rumble Stars Soccer. We'd love to see you in there (unless you've got a frog striker because they're OP and I hate them).

The best lists

This week we decided to show some love to the mobile developers we think have had the best start to 2019. That's why Jon wrote this list of the best devs of 2019 so far. It's an interesting read, and we'd love to hear whether you agree or disagree with the selections our venerable feature writer has chosen.

If that wasn't enough, Jon has also updated his list of the best Japanese games for iPhone and iPad. There are some real gems on there - games that you've heard of, and games that might have slipped by you - so make sure you give it a good long read.

The best videos

Our YouTube channel keeps on delivering, as you might imagine with the lovely James Gilmour at the helm, and this week was no different. First up we got a look at both the new Angry Birds AR game, and the carpet in James's flat with this video…

Harry used to be really good at Snake on the Nokia 5110. Apparently though, digital snake wrangling isn't a proper job, so now he writes words about games instead.
