Every week here at Pocket Gamer we like to take a moment to reflect on what's been going on in the world of mobile gaming. After all, we ruddy love mobile gaming, and reflecting. Really it's our favourite part of the week. And the end result is this round up of all of the important mobile gaming news you might have missed.

It's been a pretty good week for new games, it's been a great week for things that have made us a bit angry, and it's been a wonderful week for things that make us smile. Hopefully some of the things included in this list are going to make YOU smile as well. That's sort of what we aim for. That or rage.

Obviously we're still writing about The Elder Scrolls: Blades, but it's only because you lot keep reading about it. Sick of the game yet? Or has it flourished suddenly into an experience that you can't get enough of? We'd love to hear what you think, so let us know in the comments section down there at the bottom of the article.

While we've got you here, make sure you follow us on Twitter and become our friend on Facebook. I mean, I'm easy either way really, I'd much prefer if you just came and hung out in the comments, but I'm a wishful thinker and you kids do love your MySpaces and your Bebos.

Right, I think that's enough for me for one week, I'm off to spend the Easter weekend climbing up mountains and not looking at screens. Hope you've got some lovely plans too if you've got the time off, but either way we'll see you again bright and early next week for even more of the best mobile gaming content the internet has to offer.

The best new games

It's been another great week for new games on the App Store and Google Play Store - especially if you're a fan of golf or platforming. But we've also seen a really interesting take on turn-based multiplayer strategy thanks to the excellent Pocket Cowboys.

It came out after we did our round-up, but we reckon you should also check out Bombastic Brothers (click here to grab it for iOS). It's a super cool retro action platformer with plenty of violence and loads of action movie quips. We're pretty sure you're going to fall in love with it, just like we did.

Oh, and if you're actually excited about golf games (which you should be), then definitely give PGA Golf Tour Shootout a go. It's super slick and there's always something to do. If you're not convinced, click here to check out our review, which should do the trick.

And while it didn't actually come out this week, our Jon has fallen a bit in love with Pigeon Wings Strike. Who knows, maybe you will too?

More Elder Scrolls: Blades

Our Dave has probably now played more Elder Scrolls: Blades than anyone else, but he shows no signs of slowing down. In guide terms, this week he's covered how to take down the Wispmother. It's possible he's the only person who's actually fought one yet, but trust us when we say you're going to want to read his tips and tricks on how to survive an attack.

Still looking for critical takes on Blades? Well, as we might have mentioned, Dave has played loads of it. It's been out for a few weeks now, and he's written a new piece as a companion to his first impressions. It's all about whether The Elder Scrolls: Blades gets good, and you can find that out by clicking here.

In a moment of frivolity, I decided to write something about the PS5. Is it really time to get excited about a distant piece of shiny new hardware? Or are we better than that? The hype train has already set off, and it's determined to ensure you're on board. For us though, there are much more interesting things going on in gaming than polygons and hard drives. You can read my thoughts on the whole thing by clicking right here.

Elsewhere we had a think about all of the console ports that are coming to mobile at the moment, and how they might be taking the spotlight off some awesome games that don't have big licenses attached to them. Click here and you can join in the discussion.

The best videos

Did you know we've got our own YouTube channel? Of course you did. Click here and give us a subscribe though, if it'd had slipped your mind - that way you're never going to miss out on any of the awesome stuff that James is putting out on a regular basis.

The two best vids of the week? Well for starters there's this review of the awesome Aussie comedy adventure Stone

And then a hands-on with the wonderfully weird Rusty Pup, which you can see just after this paragraph…

Lists to make you smile

Last, but by no means least, this week we decided the world needed to smile more. That's why Dave wrote up this awesome list of the best mobile and Switch games that leave him with a grin on his face. The world is sometimes awful and dark and cold, and here at Pocket Gamer we'd like to be a little spark of brightness in all of that gloom. Expect to see more of that in the future as well.

Harry used to be really good at Snake on the Nokia 5110. Apparently though, digital snake wrangling isn't a proper job, so now he writes words about games instead.
