Legendary developer HoYoverse, the folks behind now mobile RPG staple Genshin Impact, has announced that the anticipated anime RPG, Zenless Zone Zero, will begin closed beta testing on August 5th. This beta will run on both PC and iOS, with no news on Android just yet, nor the end date.

If you haven’t kept up with the news lately, Zenless Zone Zero is the next big project from HoYoverse, and assuming you have heard about any video game ever, you’ve probably heard of Genshin Impact. It has stolen a spot across the globe as one of the biggest anime RPGs ever, both on mobile and consoles, and sits atop the charts pretty much at all times since releasing only a few years back. Zenless Zone Zero is looking to capitalize on that success, but this time offers up a vastly different setting and an interesting new plot as well.

The gameplay looks a lot like Genshin, offering up some intriguing looking action RPG combat and a vast cast of characters who will all play differently with unique abilities and functions. Toss in some gear systems that will up their stats and change how they play, and you’ve got yet another HoYoverse legend in the making. To top it all off, you’ve also got a really interesting cyberpunk sort of post apocalyptic world as the setting along with some really cool punk vibes with lots of graffiti motifs and popping colors. Needless to say, this is one to keep an eye out.

And if you’d like the chance to give it a go early, you can sign up for this upcoming closed beta by filling out a survey and getting on that email list. This beta test is one of many likely planned future tests until the full game launches next year, so if you miss out here, you’ll almost certainly get the chance to get your hands on it.
