We got our first look at PaRappa the Rapper creator Masaya Matsuura's new iPhone game WINtA back in October 2009, when he demoed an early version at Nottingham Gamecity.

Now it's been formally announced as the second game in the charity OneBigGame's schedule.

Due for release in the summer, all sales of the music rhythm title for a certain period of time will go to the charity, with Matsuura's NanaOn-Sha studio, and Dutch collaborators Triangle Studios working for free.

Get with the beat

Combining elements of pattern recognition with the natural tendency of people to tap along with music, WINtA is said to provide a fun way for people to tap along to their favourite songs while also creating an addictive challenge.

I am a big believer in creative collaborations and I am really pleased with the result that is WINtA," stated Masaya Matsuura, president of NanaOn-Sha.

"Further down the line WINtA will also very much involve music artists, VJs and gamers around the world. I can't wait to see the creative vision that we have for WINtA finally become a reality."

We couldn't be happier with WINtA as the second game to come out under our fundraising label," said Martin de Ronde, director of OneBigGame.

"We feel Matsuura-san has come up with a great concept for OneBigGame, and we are convinced that fans of his earlier works as well as fans of music games in general will be pleasantly surprised when they all get a chance to experience WINtA later this year."

OneBigGame aims to donate a minimum of 80 percent of all donations to its charity partners Save the Children and Starlight Children's foundation. You can find out more about its activities here.
