Twinkle Star Knights, a new bishoujo gacha RPG, releases onto the DMM Games storefront for Japanese gamers

Developer Exona has released their latest project for Japanese gamers titled Twinkle Star Knights. Inspired by legendary classic anime series like Sailor Moon and its ilk, this game takes you on a magical journey full of cute girls that will surely enchant you!

Twinkle Star Knights falls into a category of anime styling that they call “bishoujo”, which roughly translates to “beautiful young girl” in Japanese. While slightly off-putting as a label, it’s a popular genre amongst manga readers especially. Some prime examples of this sort of series are the aforementioned Sailor Moon, or even the super popular mobile gacha game Azur Lane. Basically, they’re fanservice-heavy series catered towards a younger male audience.

With that in mind, you know what Twinkle Star Knights is offering up on paper. It’s a magical girl gacha RPG that is full of gorgeous designs for an all-female cast. It wears this bishoujo inspiration on its sleeve, however, and is frankly not all that over-the-top with the fanservice as, say, Nikke is.

Another worthwhile thing to mention is that Twinkle Star Knights will exclusively launch on the developer’s DMM Games service, which is essentially just a different storefront for Japanese gamers to download various mobile games.

As for the gameplay, well, it’s tough to explain, especially without knowledge of the Japanese language. What can be gathered from the trailer above is an arcade-style quasi-turn-based style of combat, where your magical girls do combat with adorable little stuffed creatures. It oozes both style and happy vibes in spades, so there’s plenty to dig into here.

Don’t take my word for it! Give Twinkle Star Knights a spin by downloading it on its DMM Games page now! There’s a boatload of release rewards available for new players too, so don’t miss out!
