Grow a Garden 2 beginner's guide - 6 tips to maximise your green thumb
What can a secret tomato plant do for you, and how can you maximise your bounces (hint: with a mushroom)? Find out in our Grow a Garden 2 beginner's guide!
It's not easy making plants thrive - both IRL and virtually! Grow a Garden 2 might just be your chance to flex your green thumb, though, so if you're keen on getting started, I've got you covered.
I've also detailed some handy tips on how to lock your garden to keep other players from stealing from you (those hooligans).
In any case, in this Grow a Garden 2 beginner's guide, I will share a few useful tips to help you literally grow your garden. These helped me get a pretty good garden in just a couple of hours, so if you also want big plants or Golden mutated plants, this is where I show you how it's done.
Of course, you will have to invest in a couple of good pets too, but let's start from the very beginning.
1
Tip #1 - Redeem the codes for some good starting plants
The codes for Grow a Garden 2 will give you some exclusive seeds that help you make quite a good profit early on. These seeds normally cost a lot of Sheckles, so getting them for free is going to come in handy.
You should plant them and wait. After they start producing, you will have crops growing continuously, which is where your first profits will come in.

Tip #2 - Plant Tomato seeds next to your Apples and other big trees
Tomatoes are crops that your character can climb on, so even if they don't end up growing super big or producing extremely profitable crops, they have a different use. You can climb the tomato plants to reach the top of some of the higher trees, which otherwise will require a ladder.
You should consider the Tomato as a sort of "cheaper" ladder. Normally, the ladder will cost you quite a considerable amount of Sheckles (especially for a beginner), so while a Ladder can go for something like 30k Sheckles (in the Gear shop), a Tomato will cost only 200 Sheckles.
Plant them next to crops that tend to grow huge, and climb them to reach the top.

Tip #3 - Mushrooms are useful
Mushrooms go for 15k Sheckles, but they grant your garden various buffs. There are different types of mushrooms (you can see by their colour), and they cost as much not because they sell for a lot, but because they can bounce you when you stand on top of them.
Try to keep them underneath bigger trees, so you can use their caps to collect the crops. Oh, and avoid collecting them!

Tip #4 - Get a Robin pet
The Robin pet costs 75,000 Sheckles, but it is super useful. It can eat ripe fruit from your garden and drop a seed. Even though it's not a 100% chance for this to happen every time a fruit ripens, this is super useful if you have a lot of rare seeds planted.
The Robin pet is one of the best pets to get early on, because it is Legendary and super affordable compared to the other Legendaries.
We have a complete pet guide for Grow a Garden 2, so make sure to give it a read. It also mentions how to get Big pets, which are a rarer variety of the pets!

Tip #5 - Take advantage of the in-game events
There can be several events that the game cycles through. The Midas event is an event happening at night, which has a chance to spawn Golden seeds across the map. You should try to collect them and plant them in your garden, because Golden plants sell for a lot more.
The Celestial event has a chance to transform your crops, while the more common ones (Blizzard and Rain) will help your garden. The Blizzard can transform some of your crops into Frozen ones, which sell for a bit more, but Rain is one of the best. Rain helps your crops grow a lot faster.
So, make sure to keep an eye out for the events - you never know when they'll come in handy.

Tip #6 - Decorate your garden
There are a few ways to decorate your garden, but they're not cheap. At the Props shop, you will find several crates that have a chance to drop rare decors. You can spend your Sheckles to get them, but if you're just getting started, it wouldn't be the best use of your money.
You should try to invest in crops that can sell for a lot instead of decor, but once you reach the point where money is not a problem anymore, this is a pretty good alternative.
