Raid: Shadow Legends announces two-month partnership with the UFC

Plarium has announced that the ever-popular Raid: Shadow Legends is teaming up with the UFC for a two-month partnership. The news follows the announcement that Ronda Rousey, a UFC Hall of Famer and former bantamweight champion, arrives in the game as a legendary character.

The deal kicks off this weekend during UFC 282, which sees Jan Blachowicz and Magomed Ankalaev battle it out for the vacant light heavyweight title. The match-up is something of a last-minute switch-up. Jiri Prochazka was originally due to face Glover Teixeira for the strap but vacated it after suffering a shoulder injury to avoid holding up the division.

Alongside the light heavyweight showdown, Raid: Shadow Legends will be a big part of the marketing for UFC 283, which takes place on January 21st and marks the MMA organisation's return to Brazil for the first time since March 2020. The main event of the evening sees Deiveson Figueiredo and Brandon Moreno duke it out in the octagon for the fourth time.

Discussing the partnership, Sergey Dymshits, Plarium's CMO, said: “UFC is a premier partner in sports entertainment and the perfect fit to connect to our RAID fanbase and new global audiences in a meaningful way. We look forward to the marketing synergies planned over the next 2 months."
