Ragnarok Twilight tier list (August 2026) - Pick your dream job from the very start
While classes aren't as big a deal in this idle RPG as in other MMOs in the franchise, our Ragnarok Twilight tier list can still help you start your journey the right way!
While classes in Ragnarok often follow the same six-class foundation, our Ragnarok Twilight tier list begs to differ - in that there are only five main classes here (at least, at the moment). To be honest, after my time with this easy-breezy idle RPG, I don't really feel like the "best" one actually exists, as they all perform incredibly well out on the battlefield, and they're all pretty enjoyable no matter what your build is.
Since Ragnarok Twilight foregoes the typical MMORPG setup and instead lets you go questing automatically, choosing the right class doesn't really make or break your adventure. In fact, I'd say the "best" class is the one you think looks and feels cool - that's certainly what I did on my first go (because I have very simple wants and am easily distracted by shiny things). I did rank these classes based on utility, in my opinion, so if you're having a go at any of them, your mileage may vary.

S - Swordsman
I normally don't like ranking the Swordsman class as top-tier (as you'll notice in my Ragnarok Origin Classic tier list, for instance), mainly because I feel like it's a very "blah" class. They're extremely vanilla and don't really offer a lot of variation when it comes to strategy.
BUT. As this is an idle RPG and all you really have to do is AFK the day away on most days, you'll need someone with high survivability - someone you can leave hacking and slashing on its own until you're ready to jump back into Midgard after going about your day. And for that purpose alone, the Swordsman is unparalleled. You won't even need an AI-powered partymate to help you get through most of the content in the main quest, or even for MVP boss battles, for that matter. If you're not fussed about skills and tactics, this is the safest and easiest way to go.

A - Archer, Mage
Both the Archer and the Mage excel in ranged damage, as you might expect, and whether you go for one over the other depends on what you're prioritising. The Sniper can dish out heavy damage, especially for bosses in MVP modes, while the Mage outshines anyone else for your day-to-day main quest. Most of the enemies in the auto-combat come in mobs, so you'll need the Mage's crowd control and wave-clearing prowess to progress as fast as you can.
I should mention that the Hero system here is unlike any other RO franchise I've played - it's essentially a gacha for summoning active support on the battlefield with regular cooldowns. I was lucky enough to pull Demon Enchantress from the summons pool, who adds Control and Debuffs to the field for even more devastating synergy with the Mage!

B - Thief
It pains me to rank my beloved Thief class so low in this Ragnarok Twilight tier list, as I'll always have a soft spot for it, but it just doesn't do too well when it comes to auto-combat, especially since the main quest will mostly consist of mobs. Thankfully, it's easy to party up here - just send a request out into the ether, and someone will always respond. With a proper party, the Thief can do its job of landing quick blows on single targets - just don't expect to get very far all by your lonesome.
Oh, by the way, both Pets and Mounts also offer useful skills in combat like additional damage and healing, so I suppose if you feel like the support you get from these is enough to help you survive, then by all means, Thief away!

C - Acolyte
Yes, yes - I know I said I picked the Acolyte class for myself, and you might be wondering why I've doomed myself to a life of torture by choosing the one class that ranks the lowest. But I also did say I wanted the class that I felt was the most enjoyable, hence my odd choice.
And if you're a regular RO player, you might also be left aghast at why I've ranked the Acolyte at the bottom of this Ragnarok Twilight tier list. How dare I demote the class that almost always enjoys a comfortable spot at the top of most S-tier rankings? I know healers are always put on a pedestal elsewhere, but for auto-combat, picking a class that's all about support just isn't the most productive thing to do. You mostly won't be able to get by - or you'll get by very, very slowly - on your own in any mode, but the good news is that a lot of random strangers out there will want to party up with you, so yay for that. Otherwise, if you're looking to explore the world of Midgard alone, you're better off looking elsewhere (unless, of course, you're an outlier like me).
