Catching Pokemon in the wild and training your beloved buddies isn't all that Pokémon GO is about. In Niantic and The Pokémon Company's latest update to the insanely popular AR mobile game, players can expect a different kind of collaboration event in the form of a musical celebration with Grammy award-winning artist Ed Sheeran.

Pokemon GO will not only feature Pokemon fan Ed Sheeran in the game with a special performance, but Trainers can also experience the release of his new album “=” (Equals) like never before. A pre-recorded performance video is accessible through the game, letting everyone enjoy Sheeran's latest tracks and his greatest hits in an intimate and incredibly unique setting.

The video debuts in Pokemon GO on November 22nd and will be viewable until November 30th, which will highlight chart-topping hits such as “Thinking Out Loud”, “Shivers", "Perfect", “First Times”, "Bad Habits", and “Overpass Graffiti".

To boost the festivities of the event, Trainers will be able to redeem a special code (simply follow the instructions on Niantic's official event page) to score an exclusive in-game avatar item. This also features Ed Sheeran’s “=” album art, which you can discover more about on the collab blog.

Finally, Totodile, Mudkip, Piplup, and Oshawott might appear more frequently in the wild - you might even chance upon Squirtle wearing sunglasses and Froakie if the odds are in your favour.

If you're eager to join in on all the special celebrations (and if you want to see Sheeran's favourite Pokemon Squirtle), you can download Pokemon GO on the Google Play Store for Android devices or on the iOS App Store.
