We’re in the final stretch of July and in case you remember our post about Pokémon Go’s July content update, Niantic spoke of a mystery event taking place towards the end of this month. It was to bring debuting Pokémon and lots of fun activities to the game. As players proceed to July 27th, they will travel further back in time, due to Pokémon Go’s upcoming Hisuian Discoveries event.

For reasons unknown, Pokémon from the original Hisui region have started showing up in the current Pokémon Go world. Players will come across ancient Pokémon like Hisuian Growlithe, Qwilfish, and Sneasel who will be making their debut. Along with them, many other Pokémon like Ponyta, Aipom, Croagunk, Gible, Electabuzz, and more will appear more frequently in the wild.

The Hisuian Discoveries event will have new Field Researches to finish as well, and will reward players with encounters with Psyduck, Shinx, Oshawott, Rowlet, and many more Pokémon. Collection challenges rewarding XP, Stardust, and Incubators will also be part of the event. Speaking of incubators, walking seven kilometres during the event will hatch Pokémon like Hisuian variants of Growlithe, Qwilfish, and Sneasel.

Even the Go Battle League is setting up for the event with the Hisui Cup. The eligibility criteria includes Pokémon between the Pokédex numbers #387 and #493 or those from the Hisui region, and their CP must be maximum 1,500. Lots of rewards await the victors. The shop is also ready to feature avatar items inspired by the Legendary Arceus, alongside other stickers that can also be found in gifts and by spinning PokéStops.

The Seattle leg of the Pokémon Go Fest 2022 is also about to begin tomorrow. There are Ultra Unlock challenges for this event as well, and if players manage to achieve them in time, then the upcoming Hisuian Discoveries will have newly unlocked bonuses so make sure you participate in the Global Challenges.

Hisuian Discoveries will run on Pokémon Go between July 27th and August 2nd. Download Pokémon Go now for free.
