Pokemon Go's Fashion Week returns with the debuts of Mareanie, Toxapex, and more
With September nearing an end, we’ve checked off most of the events in this month’s Pokémon Go calendar. The Test Your Mettle event ends today, leaving only some raids and spotlight hours to look out for besides the Safari Zone, which is exclusive to people in Goyang. The only event left now is one that allows Pokémon to show off their style as Fashion Week is coming back!
Pokémon Go’s Fashion Week 2022 begins at 10:00 am on September 27th and will run up to October 3rd at 8:00 pm local time. During this event, players will encounter new and debuting Pokémon, they will find others dressed in exclusive costumes, and will also be able to participate in limited-time research for numerous rewards.
The showstopper of this event is a debutant who will be seen in Pokémon Go for the first time. Coming straight from the Alolan Islands is the poison/water-type Brutal Star Pokémon Mareanie! She joins the AR game alongside her evolution Toxapex. Mareanie will be found at a greater rate in the wild throughout this week.
Other Pokémon will also be donning adorable threads to prepare for the event. Players can expect to find Pokémon like Diglett, Dugtrio, Absol, and Toxicroak, all wearing fashionable costumes as they strut in the wilds. Timed research will award encounters with them as well, and taking photos of these decked-up Pokémon may lead to a surprise appearance too!
Even in the wilds players will come across Pokémon like Butterrfree, Croagunk, Blitzle, Furfou, Kirlia, and more, all sporting new looks. Raids will have their fair share of costumed Pokémon that include Shinx, Absol, Mareanie, Yveltal, and Mega Lopunny.
Fashion Week can’t only feature the Pokémon dressing up, can it? The Item Store is going to be full of Avatar Items as well so players can show off their new looks too! These costumes will remain in the shop for a while after the event has concluded.
