In 2006, UK publisher Player One opened a specific sporting branch of its mobile game publishing house (Player One Sports), which has just signed a five-year deal allowing THQ Wireless to distribute its games worldwide.

"Working with THQ Wireless' top-tier global distribution expertise represents a significant opportunity to grow the mobile audience for Player One Sports' games," says Player One's managing director, Pete Russell.

The deal includes Pool Star – Atlantic City, Phil Taylor's Power Darts 2008, Pokermillion – The Masters, Tribal Baseball, Ronnie O'Sullivan Snooker, Table Tennis Star, Premier League Snooker, Michael Vaughan Pro Cricket, Freddie Flintoff's Powerplay Cricket and the newly signed Ernie Els Golf.

"Player One Sports' games on mobile have always been critically acclaimed and equally loved by mobile consumers everywhere," Adam Comiskey, vice-president of THQ Wireless commented. "THQ Wireless is delighted to be able to offer this exceptional portfolio of unique games to carriers worldwide".
