HTC Vive misses launch window, coming April 2016
A-vive-ing late

In a blog post and email to Vive developers Valve has outlined plans for their release.
"We will be starting the new year by making an additional 7,000 units available to developers, followed by commercial availability in April 2016"
Although the company is missing the original 2015 launch window and the newly stated "Q1 2016" date outlined in August, the headset is planned for an April launch.
in the meantime plans for the Vive include "hosting a developer conference in Beijing on December 18th, launching the second generation of the HTC Vive Developer Kit at CES and engaging audiences at key events"
Having tried most of the big headset, the Vive & controller combined immediately feel like the closest we'll ever get to a holodeck, and besides our staff writer Glen having some issues with it, everyone I've met has loved it.
Current downsides include needing an entire room for your holodeck simulation and the gigantic cable plugging you into the demo computer, but none of this makes it any less impressive.
You can find out for yourself when the HTC Vive launches in April.
