iOS + Android + 3DS ...

The nominees for the 2012 Golden Joystick Awards have been announced, and it looks like mobile, portable, and social games have managed to sneak into a lot more categories this time around.

This year, there are a whopping 20 different games to choose from in the Best Mobile/Tablet category, including Pocket Gamer Award-winning titles Angry Birds Space, Infinity Blade II, LostWinds 2: Winter of the Melodias, and Temple Run.

Then, there are a further eight portable games over in the Best Handheld category. These include 3DS title Kid Icarus: Uprising and excellent PS Vita games Uncharted: Golden Abyss and WipEout 2048.

There's more, though. The web versions of popular mobile titles Draw Something, New Star Soccer, and Triple Town have made it into the Best Browser/Flash category; The Walking Dead and excellent RPG Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery have made it into the Best Downloadable section; and - last but not least - Resident Evil Revelations for the 3DS is up for an Ultimate Game of the Year award.

Check out a full list of the mobile, portable, and social games nominees below. Don't forget that you can cast your vote by heading over to the official Golden Joystick Awards website.
