Who doesn't love new games? We certainly do - there's just something about the exhilaration of a new title you can't wait to dive into, as the loading screen pops up and you enter a brave new world.
Of course, new mobile games are a dime a dozen these days, and who has the time to scour the iPhone, iPad and/or Android stores to catch the latest title that drops? Fret not - we've gathered a quick list of 5 new mobile games you should try this week, whether that's an undiscovered indie gem or a high-profile AAA masterpiece.

Letter Pirate
Ah, pirates. What are all these ne'er-do-wells up to this time? In Letter Pirate - as you might expect from the title - they're stealing letters instead of terrorising the seven seas, offering a refreshing new take on your average word puzzler on mobile.
It's Scrabble with a competitive twist, as you can use the letters and words your frenemy's deployed on the board to form your own even longer word. As long as you can draw a line to connect the letters and flex your vocabulary, you're good to go, and whoever owns the most tiles in the end wins! It definitely adds an intellectual layer to the ol' pirate's life, doesn't it?

Chillquarium
If you can't be bothered and you're looking to give your brain cells a break, then the aptly titled Chillquarium should be right up your alley. The relaxing soundtrack adds to the totally low-key vibe too. I gave this idle sim a try myself when it was in early access, which says a lot given I'm not exactly fond of marine life.
It is, essentially, as it says on the tin - you chill by building your own aquarium, and as you continue to add all kinds of marine life in there and make your lovely little haven thrive, you can kick back, relax, and just stare at fishies all day to keep all your worries at bay.

My Hero Academia United Survival
Ramping the adrenaline back up is My Hero Academia United Survival, which is a top-down Survivors-like based on the popular anime franchise. You'll build your three-person team and engage in action-packed combat with cool combos and flashy skills, which is exactly the kind of vibe you want from the genre!
The roguelite element keeps you on your toes with every new run too, and with the exclusive narrative to sink your teeth into, I'd say it's worth a go for fans and non-fans alike.

Cluckmech Oasis
Speaking of chaos, Cluckmech Oasis is a roguelike tower defence and another Survivors-like in this week's list - which is always welcome! The titular Cluckmechs seem to be an unholy blend of mecha-chickens, with more than 300 upgrade options to experiment with and very distinct heroes to recruit.
Turrets, minions, traps, and bases all need proper deployment, with randomised maps to make each stage as unpredictable as the last. The pixel art is always a plus for me too, so really, there's no reason not to give this one a go.

Dynasty Warriors: Overlord
And since we're ramping up the action, we might as well end this roundup with Dynasty Warriors: Overlord, the latest mobile adaptation for the popular Three Kingdoms era franchise. I personally love this massive series, so to have this hack-and-slash action game ready to dive into on my phone is incredibly exciting - and it's officially licensed by Koei Tecmo too.
