Monmate Master: Idle Adventure is the latest Pal-like to hit mobile

Ever since Palworld blew the doors off the genre, we've seen plenty of attempts to replicate that success on mobile. Palworld itself was long-rumoured to have a mobile version in the offing, something we haven't seen further development of yet. But the latest to take a swing at the format is the MMO Monmate Master: Idle Adventure.

Admittedly, in Monmate Master, the core difference is the main gameplay loop. In a world where humans and creatures called Monmates stand side by side, you'll be tasked with defeating monsters, befriending new Monmates to join your party and even putting them to work at camp to help gather resources.

You'll be able to use the autobattle and idle features to collect resources while you aren't playing, while the Overworld-focused battles mainly rely on how you arrange your lineup in a separate screen to determine how and where your Monmates attack.

While most Pal-likes tend to try and dazzle with the array of monsters on offer and similar 3D open-world formats, Monmate Master is an interesting diversion from this trend. Of course, if you're looking for something that capitalises on the Palworld craze a little more, this might not be what you've been waiting for.

It's certainly not hard to see that Monmate might be more of a gacha waifu RPG when you scratch the surface, given that the Monmates transform between their cute monster forms and more humanoid anime girl appearances on a whim (because, of course, they do).

But, at the same time, if you're looking for an MMORPG that has a bit of a twist, Monmate Master might be for you.
