Mongil: Star Dive is Netmarble's upcoming action RPG that carries on the legacy of Monster Taming
  • Throwback to Monster Taming with a twist
  • Powered by Unreal Engine 5
  • More details to be revealed at G-STAR 2024

Netmarble has announced an upcoming action RPG titled Mongil: Star Dive, offering a fresh Monster Taming experience fans of the 2013 classic will find very familiar.

Boasting 15 million players, Monster Taming was the key that unlocked Netmarble’s foray into mobile RPGs - and with Mongil: Star Dive, you can expect to experience a similar world and gameplay but with a fresh twist (and a visual upgrade too).

You'll follow the tale of Verna and Cloud and experience action-packed combat powered by Unreal Engine 5. More interesting, in my opinion, is the lovely system where you can tame monsters using Nyanners' abilities - these will help you turn the tide of battle in your favour using their special skills. You can also craft "Monster-ring" items that will buff up your characters once equipped.

There's no exact release date or launch window just yet, as it's all still hot off the press. Given that the project is still under development, expect some terms and content to change over time as well. If you're at all curious about it, though - and you just so happen to be in Korea from now until November 17th - you'll be happy to know that more details will be revealed at G-STAR 2024.
