Idle Stickman: Wuxia Legend is a low-res take on the classic Chinese fighting fantasy, coming soon
  • Idle Stickman: Wuxia Legends sees your humble stickman take on a martial arts flavour
  • Kick, slash and thrash your way through hordes of enemies
  • Get stronger and even acquire more power when you're not playing with idle mechanics

From Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, to Kung-Fu Panda, the world of Chinese martial arts has fascinated people in the west for generations. No wonder then that from big to small you can find titles that try to emulate this enigmatic, high-octane style of fighting. And there's no shortage on mobile either, like today's subject, Idle Stickman: Wuxia Legends.

Wuxia, so named for the sound commonly associated with all those fancy martial arts moves (wu-sha) is basically a term for Chinese martial arts fantasy, although it often involves sword fighting too. Basically, thing the adventures of King Arthur or other pseudo-mythological medieval adventures but translated to the fighting style and world of medieval China.

The same goes for Idle Stickman: Wuxia Legends which takes the stickman formula and adds some martial arts flavouring. You simply tap left and right to dispatch enemies, while accruing new skills and equipment. There's even a little bit of idle gameplay in there as your chosen stickman dukes it out while you're not playing.

I often talk about how mobile offers more than a bit to the days of Adobe Flash. And anyone who remembers that period can recall just how prevalent the humble stickman was. Easy to draw, easy to animate and easy to spruce up with new accessories and roles, like some kind of gaming Barbie.

Not to say that Idle Stickman is necessarily some gem of design, but I think you could do a lot worse if this is the genre you're interested in. It's expected on December 23rd on iOS, although no news on an Android release, but keep checking in and we'll keep you posted.
