Goddess of Victory: Nikke debuts double whammy April Fool's with in-game events and a movie?
Mechanically-inclined

- It's April Fools, and Nikke is seeing the return of its yearly event
- Shifty and Syuen will once more be available, alongside the new Mecha Shifty
- But what's this announcement about a movie? Joke, or something more?
It's April 1st, and you know what that means! Yes, there's going to be plenty of announcements, events and occasional trailers for stuff we wish was real and not just a joke. Fortunately, if you're a Goddess of Victory: Nikke fan, you don't need to worry and can still enjoy their yearly April Fool's event.
Characters Shifty and Syuen will be making a return as they have in previous events, alongside a brand-new April Fool's exclusive character called Mecha Shifty. This over-armoured, up-gunned version of Shifty will be available to play in certain battle missions.
However, it's not just this April Fool's event that's caught my eye. As Goddess of Victory: Nikke has also released a brand new movie trailer for a film that'll supposedly be shown in Los Angeles and New York City. Real, or just an attention grabber? Apparently, you'll have to jump in to find out.

Now, jokes aside I'm pretty sure that film isn't actually real, or at least not a proper full-on dramatic presentation. Considering it features the joke character de jure for this year's event. But at the same time, whatever you can say about Nikke you can't deny that their April Fools events tend to show a fair amount of work.
And if that film does turn out to be more than just the trailer (even if it has more of a humorous bent) I'm sure that we'll hear more about it in the coming days, or not.
But hey, in the meantime if you're now jumping back into Goddess of Victory: Nikke to try out this new April Fools content why not take a gander at our tier list and reroll guide? Or dig on into our Nikke beginners guide to give you an intro to the world of this over-the-shoulder shooter.
