Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis is nearing launch as new information points to a late September launch

With Square Enix’s recent shift to focus more on its beloved Final Fantasy franchise, we’ve been hearing a lot about games belonging to this series. While most of these are concerning games coming to consoles, there is some new news regarding one of their upcoming mobile games. Last year, Square Enix announced two games coming to mobile, with the first being the battle royale – Final Fantasy VII: The First Soldier which has already been released and the next is Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis which is what we have some more information about now.

Touted as a remake of a remake, Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis is an upcoming JRPG that is going to feature an episodic format with parts of the story trickling down monthly. Ever Crisis is essentially a retelling of everything that happens in the game as it includes all its stories – Final Fantasy VII, Advent Children, Before Crisis, Crisis Core and Dirge of Cerberus. While no accurate release date has been confirmed yet, we do know that it is launching sometime in late September this year. So, with about four months to go for its expected launch, Square Enix should start revealing more details as we get closer.

From what we do know, Ever Crisis will feature additional content as well which tells players more about the events leading to Final Fantasy VII: The First Soldier and stories about the characters’ childhoods. Like a lot of mobile games, this one will feature a Gacha system as well, so expect loot boxes galore. Gameplay-wise, it will feature an Active Time Battle System like the original and groups of three will take part in battles, performing special actions when their gauge is filled. The graphics are also going to emulate the retro style of the original.

No other news yet, but Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis will be free-to-play and should launch in the next few months. Keep checking the game’s official website for more details.
