It's been another short week for us here at Pocket Gamer towers thanks to a national holiday on Monday. That's okay though, because we've still created more than enough amazing content to fill up about 14 of these round-ups. It's because we love mobile games, see? And we just can't stop writing about them, oh me oh my no.

This week we've seen Google announcing some new phones, we've had a whole bunch of awesome new releases landing on the App Store and Google Play Store, and we've found out about the first games that are getting Xbox Live support for mobile. Basically it's been really, really busy - like it usually is.

Make sure you follow us on Twitter and become our friend on Facebook while you're here - that way you're never going to miss out on a single piece of awesome portable gaming info. Plus you'll get to see some of our best puns - and puns are the most important part of the internet.

Enjoyed our round-up? Think we've omitted something that deserves a place on this list? Then make sure you let us know in the comments section at the bottom of the article - we'd hate to think we'd let you down, and we'd love to think we've made you smile. And if it is just a smile, there are reaction emojis you can use now - that's like typing that you're happy without actually having to type it. We've streamlined your praise.

We'll be back at it next week, smashing out the best content about mobile and portable games on the internet, so make sure you check back then. In the meantime though, let's sort recap what's been a pretty awesome week in Pocket Gamer land.

In the land of games that are nearly out, we're super excited to see how Dead Cells translates to touchscreen devices. You should be too.

The best reviews

Jumpgrid is the new game from the developer of Boson-X. It's a twitchy slice of brilliance that we described as "a fast, brilliantly designed arcade experience that you really need to try" Click here and you can read our Jumpgrid review in its entirety.

Daggerhood is a decent looking retro platformer. That might not sound all that exciting, but this one has a teleportation mechanic that really sets it apart from other games in the genre. When we reviewed it we said "it's the teleporting that really pushes Daggerhood up - there are some really clever puzzles wrapped around the mechanic, and they mean you're going to be looking at familiar obstacles in interesting new ways." Click here to read our full Daggerhood review.

Last but not least, Shards of Infinity is a sequel to the deck-building classic Ascension. Our reviewer says that "a wealth of clever tweaks to a well-worn formula fills Shards with strategy and fun." Click here and you can check out our full review of Shards of Infinity.
