DriftX is the newest release from dev UMX Studios, out now on iOS and Android
Drift with the best or crash like the rest

- DriftX is the recently-released launch from developer UMX Studios
- It sees you racing across the expansive Saudi-Arabian desert
- Take on a variety of challenges solo or in multiplayer
When we look into recent releases there tends to be some that pass us by in the absolute tidal wave of new launches. But some quickly come back to our attention, as is the case with DriftX, which has dominated the charts and hit #1 in the Middle East; apparently for good reason.
Drift X is an ambitious release by all accounts, as the developer promises not only the issue of rubber-burning racing but also the ability to explore and compete in a vast open world that covers the vast Saudi-Arabian desert. And while DriftX doesn't offer the biggest garage out there, it still boasts over 20 customisable and upgradeable cars to pick from.
DriftX also boasts a variety of modes, be that solo play, quick multiplayer matches or even custom setups to enjoy. You can test out your speed in the street race challenge, explore the map and try to find randomly assigned points or simply compete for the highest possible drifting score.

Investment into gaming in the Middle East has been a major topic of discussion for years now, but it seemed as if it would be a while before it bore fruit. However, DriftX is a relatively recent launch, hitting storefronts in 2024, that has also managed to find plenty of popularity.
Mechanically speaking it looks to be a very complete and competent release. But at the same time, I do wonder how well developers like UMX Studios, who produced DriftX, can stand up to a genre which already boasts major releases from well-established studios.
In the meantime, if you need something to scratch that racing itch and DriftX doesn't quite meet your standards, why not dig into our list of the top 25 best racing games for Android and iOS to see where we've ranked other top releases in the genre?
