Disney Epic Mickey: Rebrushed has you saving a dark world as the iconic animated mouse
- Disney: Epic Mickey Rebrushed brings the cult classic platformer to mobile
- This remastered version features updated graphics and performance
- Dive into a dark fantasy world emulating the old-school Disney animated shorts
Nowadays it may seem an obvious choice, but back in 2010 the idea of trying to make a cute kid's character into something darker and more action-packed was sheer lunacy. Which probably explains why I distinctly remember a mixture of mockery and disbelief towards Epic Mickey.
But now this cult classic platformer is set to make a return, this time to iOS and Android with a potential September release. Epic Mickey is a 3D platformer that sees you taking on the role of, who else? Mickey Mouse! But this isn't a cute, colourful adventure, as you'll instead take on the challenge of freeing a place known as the Wasteland.

Brush up
Epic Mickey: Rebrushed sees you returning to the Wasteland and exploring dark fantasy worlds that seem a bit more Tim Burton than Walt Disney. Not only that, but Disney fans well-versed in the history of the studio will recognise plenty of characters drawn straight from the history of the studio, such as Clarabelle the Cow and Oswald the Lucky Rabbit making appearances. It's not the first time that the Epic Mickey name has appeared on mobile either, as back in 2013 Epic Mickey: Power of Illusion was a 16-bit spinoff of the console version that also riffed on classic Disney video games.
While I'm not an iOS player, I've no doubt many of you, both those who played Epic Mickey back in the day and complete newcomers, will both be excited to give it a go on iOS when Epic Mickey: Rebrushed lands in September!
Who knows, maybe this remaster will even be worthy enough to make it onto our list of the best mobile games of 2026 (so far). This constantly updated list features some of the most interesting and acclaimed launches, with constant updates each month to keep it fresh!
