Platonic Games, the indie team behind the fishing clicker Sailor Cats, has released the next game in the series, Clicker Cats. Taking a page from its predecessor, Clicker Cats is still very much an idle clicker, but with a whole new setting this time around.

Sailor Cats was a very relaxing idle clicker that didn’t demand much of your time or attention, and Clicker Cats is only slightly less the same. Clicker Cats is, rather than a fishing game, an RPG of sorts. This Cats game will see you sending out various cat heroes to do battle idly as you level up your party and use the loot they find to decorate and furnish a tavern. Despite having a bit more going on than Sailor Cats, Clicker Cats very much is still trying to tap into that idle clicker genre and is meant to be a very relaxing time, just like its sister title.

The story of this RPG sees you play as Kit, a boy who inherits a tavern from his grandmother and sets out to make it the best tavern for travelling heroes to rest between adventures. Of course, the spin here is that those travelling heroes are all, you guessed it, cats. These feline adventurers are each unique and different, and with over 1000 of them available, you’ll have to pick through your favourites to send out specific parties that are the best suited for certain missions.

If you were one of the 200,000 people who enjoyed Sailor Cats, you’ll very likely find much to love here. Clicker Cats basically takes the formula of the previous game and turns it up to 11, as well as adding in a lovely housing mechanic that allows you to fully decorate your tavern and make it your own. Also of note is that Clicker Cats has a multiplayer component, allowing you to play in raids with other players to fully explore all the dungeons set across the game world.

If cute cats, decorating your own player housing, and some not so demanding time respecting idle gameplay sounds up your alley, you can give Clicker Cats a shot for free on both the App Store and Google Play.
