We've heard a lot recently about people who've worked in console development turning their hand to iOS games.

One such is Dale Thomas. He's previously worked at Creatures' developer Cyberlife, and more recently at PixelJunk studio Q-Games, plus he's worked in academia as a researcher into artificial life and robotics.

Now based in Kyoto, Japan, and operating under the lable Scylla Games, his latest release is BlibBlob.

Blob a job

It's a colourful kid-oriented jump-and-move platformer, in which you take control, via tilt or touch buttons, of a certain blooby chap called Mr. Filby in his task of recovering all the royal stars which have been blown across Blobtopia.

There are 15 large levels to explore, while other activities you'll get up to include riding on strange creatures, exploring secret areas to find hidden hearts, and munching down on mysterious levitating fruit for bonus points.

Released for iPhone, priced 99c, €0.79 or 69p, BlibBlob is available now from the App Store.

You can see how it plays in the following video.
