Welcome to our complete list and guide for Free Fire Launchers! You’ll learn a bit about each launcher in the game and how to use them. At the end of the guide, we’ll choose one as the “weapon of choice” or the best launcher in Free Fire.

In case you need help with the basics, make sure you check our Free Fire - essential tips to win!

Grenade launchers are pretty versatile weapons in real life. They can be lethal or, non-lethal, shoot flares, break doors and of course, disable or outright kill. Basically, the first ones made acted like slings that would fill the gap between the hand-thrown grenade and the mortar which required a crew for handling. It gave soldiers much-needed mobility.

In Free Fire, grenade launchers are equally lethal. These are rare weapons to obtain and should be used carefully, as they have an area of impact, so it’s not advised to use them in close-range combat.

How and when to use launchers in Free Fire?

Launchers are an excellent choice when the enemy is hidden behind an obstacle, as they fire angled lob shots! Not only that, but they also have an area of impact. It will feel like you are using some free fire hacks!

Therefore, they are the most suitable weapon to clear teams when they try to revive a teammate behind a sticky wall they made. If you can’t manage to get the precise angle when you shoot over the wall, just shoot beside it. AoE damage will make your enemies either move or die.

Mind that the range of the grenade increases when you are on higher ground, so that should be one hint where to use them. Top of the hills and roofs of any higher building are perfect spots to properly utilize their power. This also means that you should not use them when your opponents are on the higher ground, as your range will drop significantly!

Another useful tactic would be to hurl a grenade through the window if you know the enemy is in the room. Its area of impact will probably make them run out to try to face you or die. In case they decide to stay, you can just throw in a few more to finish them off.

Let’s go over each grenade launcher in the game in detail.

RGS50

free fire RGS50 gun guide

A Russian-made launcher that was supposed to be an anti-riot weapon. It can also be lethal, depending on what rounds it’s using.

RGS50 in Free Fire is a futuristic version of the above-mentioned model. The main difference between this launcher and the other two is the path of the projectile. RGS50 is acting more like a missile launcher, as the projectiles fly in a straight line. It also has a vehicle lock ability.

Having one of these can save your life when you are in the open against the hostile vehicle that’s rushing towards you. However, this won’t often be the case, and this grenade launcher deals a bit less damage to the players.

M79

free fire launchers guide - M79

This was one of the first massively produced grenade launchers. It was made back in the 1960s’ and it was used in the Vietnam war. Strangely enough, it’s still used in some of the minor conflicts throughout the world.

In Garena Free Fire, M79 is one of the iconic weapons! A lot of people prefer to use it even before the much superior MGL140, although they are just overly enthusiastic if you ask me.

The biggest disadvantage of the weapon is the single round. After each shot, you’ll have to reload your weapon, and this takes time, meaning you are vulnerable during reloads. The best course of action is to use the weapon when the enemy is hiding behind an obstacle and quickly switch to another weapon to finish him off.

MGL140

free fire launchers guide MGL140

MGL 140 is a grenade launcher that was made and designed by the South African arms developer - Milkor. Strangely enough, it uses the same 40mm grenades that fit the M79.
The USA made its own company to produce the copies of the weapon, which says a lot about its reliability and effectiveness.

This is a fearsome weapon in the game too! Basic stats of MGL140 are the same as M79, with one huge difference: the magazine can hold up to 5 grenades. The advantage is evident, you don’t have to switch weapons after the first shot, as you do with M79.

However, it still has a somewhat slow rate of fire.

  • DAMAGE: 90
  • RATE OF FIRE: 33
  • RANGE: 51
  • RELOAD SPEED: 76
  • MAGAZINE: 5
  • ACCURACY: 90
  • MOVEMENT SPEED: 65
  • ARMOR PENETRATION: 0

Best launcher in Free Fire?

We’ll hand over the flattering title of the best launcher in Garena’s Free Fire to the MGL140! The competition is not even that tough when you take into account that most of the combat in-game is between two or more players going on foot and often hiding behind the sticky walls.

When I was 6 y/o, my gaming journey began on Amiga 600. That’s where the Worms, The Secret of Monkey Island, Lemmings and many other legendary games made their first appearance. People say: “you can’t find games like that anymore”, but I beg to differ. Anyway, you can still see the same passion and zoning out whenever I’m doing something I like, including my lifelong passion – gaming. I’m currently doing a different line of work, SEO Management and writing, but when the time allows I get into the games I love and spend some peaceful hours. If friends are playing with me, it’s even merrier.
