PUBG Mobile will be updated to version 1.0 on September 8th with a host of visual upgrades, gameplay features and more

PUBG Mobile has been a huge hit since it first launched for iOS and Android back in 2018. It has been downloaded a staggering 600 million and still boasts 50 million daily users, excluding Chinese mainland players. It's achieved all of this before hitting version 1.0 which we now know will arrive on September 8th.

This sizeable update will see a number of updates introduced to the popular the battle royale title. This includes improvements to character models, the main lobby lights and other environments. Other visual enhancements will include changes to particles, smoke, air blasts and muzzle flashes. Vegetation, the sky and water will also apparently be improved thanks to new lighting systems and texture quality, leading to a better-looking game overall.

The user interface and interactive experiences have also been overhauled too, promising to make for a more intuitive control experience. The interface specifically has been redesigned so that it's much easier on the eyes and therefore, hopefully, more pleasant to engage with.

Beyond that, they've made it easier for players to find what they're looking for in menus quicker through the introduction of a multi-screen switching mode that has been created exclusively for PUBG Mobile. Games, community and purchases have been separated into three places so players can access the areas they're after quicker. Finally, players will also be able to customise the layout to suit their own preferences.

The PUBG Mobile team has also teased that a 'much-anticipated surprise' will also be announced soon. So we'll be sure to keep you updated on whatever that may be. They've also said the game will still receive updates after the 1.0 update, though that was always a given since the game remains immensely popular.

PUBG Mobile is available now over on the App Store and Google Play. It's a free-to-play game with in-app purchases.
