Pokemon Masters adds two new Sync Pairs from Team Skull to the game alongside an accompanying Story Event

The latest update for Pokemon Masters brings not one but two new Sync Pairs to Pasio. The two trainers are Guzma and Plumeria who are both members of Team Skull, hailing from the Alola region. To coincide with their arrival in the game there's also a Story Event and Log-in bonus to accompany their release.

First up, Guzma will be paired up with the bug-type Golisopod and they'll be a 5-star Sync Pair. The Hard Scale Pokemon will be a physical striker and have access a few self buffs to help him dish out more damage including Dire Hit + to increase his critical chance.

There's also Beat 'Em Up which uses a maximum of three move gauge blocks to increase Golisopod's Attack and Defense by up to four stages. So it's basically a physical version of Sceptile's No Turning Back! Golisopod also has an attack called First Impression. This move does a lot of damage but will fail if he has used any other moves up to that point.

Meanwhile, Plumeria has teamed up with the Poison-type Salazzle. Also a 5-star Sync Pair the Toxic Lizard Pokemon will be a special striker with access to the poison attack Sludge Wave which will damage all opponents with a small chance of leaving them poisoned.

She also has a move that will increase the move gauge by three and another that will increase her special attack by increasing amounts based on the number of blocks left in the gauge, up to a maximum of three stages.

They will have joint Spotlight Scout where you'll have an increased chance of pulling either duo. This will run from today until 14th April. As is often the case, you won't be able to get either Fantina & Mismagius or Sabrina & Alakazam from this Scout as they currently have their own.

To coincide with their launch there will also be an event featuring the two new Sync Pairs called Team Skull Crash Course. This will be similar to the Shining Star Event from last month where you'll complete battles to earn Travel Tokens which can be spent to collect items on a map. These maps will have multiple checkpoints to reach that will take you to the next area.

This will net you a plethora of different training items such as Elite Four Notes, Buff Blends, Tech Tonics and more. There will also be Sync Orbs for Guzma & Golisopod and Plumeria & Salazzle specifically with some co-op Sync Orbs up for grabs too.

Finally, there is a new log-in bonus that will net you 150 Gems a day for the next two weeks. This will give you a grand total of 2100 Gems over a fortnight.

Pokemon Masters is available now on the App Store and Google Play. It's a free-to-play game with in-app purchases.
