Thee idle genre on mobile is huge and one of the most popular games of that ilk has been AFK Arena. The game only released last year but has already been downloaded a staggering 40 million times. Now, to celebrate an extremely first year Lilith Games have teamed up with SNK to bring Ukyo Tachibana of Samurai Shodown fame to AFK Arena.

Starting from today, players will be able to add this wandering swordsman to their squad as a guest for seven days. Once that's passed he will be obtainable as a premium purchase until the end of August. Ukyo joins the Dimensional faction since he originates from another game and world entirely.

Ukyo Tachibana has been recreated in the art style of AFK Arena and his skills have been adjusted to the idle genre too. He will be a fast and agile hero that can rapidly deal damage to enemies with his trusty blade. He will have a special ability called Hientorajin that consists of 10 lighting fast strikes of his sword.

Beyond this collaborative addition to AFK Arena's roster, players can also expect a plethora of in-game items including Dust and Diamonds available as log-in bonuses. There will also be a host of events that will offer various rewards too. A list of the events that will be taking place can be found on the game's Facebook page.

If you're unfamiliar with AFK Arena, it's an idle RPG with an art style that's inspired by Celtic mythology. There are a huge number of heroes to add to your squad that will battle against foes whilst you just sit back and enjoy the action.

AFK Arena is available now over on the App Store and Google Play. It's a free-to-play game with in-app purchases.
