Ylands' 2.0: Adventure Awaits update introduces nearly 100 new features

Bohemia Interactive has just announced a new update for its low-poly open-world adventure game Ylands. This isn’t just an ordinary update with some new content. It’s a colossal one the release is a result of over three years of work. Players can expect to find a whopping 90 new features, while 9000 bugs were also smashed.

The update has been aptly titled Ylands 2.0 – Adventure Awaits. Up until 2020, Ylands seemed to be imitating Roblox more than they liked, which led to a shrinking player base are more and more negative comments flooded in. This led to the release of Update 1.5: Enhancing Exploration, which pumped the numbers back up, while simultaneously quadrupling its player base.

Ylands 2.0 aims to usher in a new era of development for the game. There’s so much new content including more immersive lore, and improvements to a variety of systems like tutorials, combat, assets and crafting, and terrain generation. On top of that, multiple enhancements have been made to the menus to create a more streamlined experience for players.

Speaking of the new update, Project Lead Aleš Ulm, said: “Our reviews since Update 1.5 (i.e. 2020) have been slowly but consistently improving. Our community on Discord is comprised of hundreds of active players and is still growing. They’re friendly and helpful, which is quite unique in the gaming world. Over the last almost 3 years, both the development team and the Ylands community have reshaped the game into an almost entirely new experience. All that hard work is now coming to a head with the release of Ylands Update 2.0: Adventure Awaits.”
