The highly anticipated mobile ARPG, Wuthering Waves, from the developers of Punishing Gray Raven has announced that its closed beta testing phase set to begin on April 24th has opened up registration for interested gamers. The registrations will allow you a chance to get put into the testing phase so you can check out this awesome-looking game before the official release!

Wuthering Waves has been kept under some pretty tight wraps since it was announced early last year, with only conceptual trailers and some very small gameplay snippets shown. What is clear however is that the game is seeking to capitalize on the popular open-world RPG format that’s big right now, but with the excellent action-oriented combat that Kuro Games are so good at.

Wuthering Waves seems to be a bit of a darker game, with a moody atmosphere dripping from every piece of the game we’ve seen thus far. It’s a bit more colourful than Punishing Gray Raven, but this is still a post-apocalyptic tale, and you’re here to save humanity from the brink of destruction.

The gameplay we have seen seems quite reminiscent of Genshin Impact, with a vast open world full of different biomes and enemies to fight along with a bunch of NPCs to interact with. Wuthering Waves places a large focus on story and world-building, fleshing out the game to be a lot deeper than a simple open-world romp, with over 100 years of lore to discover as you progress throughout the story.

Basically, this is every gacha gamer's dream. Genshin Impact’s world and story and rich character drama with Punishing Gray Raven’s excellent action combat sounds incredible to me. If you agree, you can check out the official website here and register for that upcoming closed beta test!
