Wizardry Variants Daphne introduces new Samurai class for you Mifune fans out there
  • Wizardry Variants Daphne is expanding its fantasy world with a brand-new class
  • The Samurai focuses on a reactive stance mechanic to succeed in battle
  • It arrives alongside the new weapon, the katana, and legendary adventurer Shiou

It's a known fact that three historical archetypes are the coolest. That's cowboys, pirates, and samurai. Sure, in real life, they probably were nowhere near as glamorous as we think they are, but when you roll up a character in your TTRPG of choice, don't say you aren't tempted to pick one of them.

So, it's not all that surprising that Wizardry Variants Daphne has chosen to capitalise on that fascination with its latest class, the samurai. Now these aren't the retainer-type feudal lords of history, but the katana-toting figures of anime and film. They're built not around sword and shield, but changing stances at the right time to carry the day.

Debuting as the first new limited-time legendary adventurer of this class, Shiou, the Everlasting Katana Hunter, arrives alongside the new class and its exclusive weapon, the katana. Shiou is all about using their abilities to focus enemy attacks on them, and a deathblow-type attack when on low enough health.

Shiou's Remains event will last until August 6th, and features both her and her gear, with the Kiki-Ichimonji Katana, Peony Hair Ornament and Greaves of Valor. Not only that, but a new adventurer with the dwarf Samurai Bugen will also be joining Wizardry Variants Daphne and will be available in their own remains between now and July 30th.

Samurai are cool, no matter how much you may deny it. So it's very fun to see Wizardry Variants Daphne playing into it with this new class and character!
