Warhammer 40,000 Tacticus will introduce the Thousand Suns faction in June

As part of the recent Skulls showcase, Snowprint Studios has announced the Thousand Suns will become the thirteenth playable faction to arrive in Warhammer 40,000: Tacticus. It's apparently one of the most requested additions by players, so those folk will be pleased to hear the new squad arrives in June.

To mark the occasion, the Thousand Suns will battle against the Aeldari in a new campaign that sees the two competing for control over an ancient craftworld. Under the command of daemon primarch Magnus, the XVth Legion utilises ripping warp energy on the battlefield. You can check out a trailer for the new faction below.

Warhammer 40,000: Tacticus was released last year and has become incredibly popular in the time since, with over two million players getting involved. Pocket Gamer's reader's also clearly enjoyed its accessible approach to strategy since it picked up our coveted Mobile Game of the Year award. Our reviewer Will Quick enjoyed his time with it, so check out his thoughts if you're thinking about trying it out.

Despite all those impressive stats and accolades, you might not be familiar with Tacticus. It's a turn-based strategy game set in Games Workshop's popular sci-fi universe. After carefully selecting your squad, you will make tactical decisions to overcome your enemies by taking advantage of terrain and positioning. Of course, the weapons you choose and the abilities you deploy also play a key role.

Tacticus offers an array of different modes, including PvE campaigns, PvP, live events and Guild Raids, among others. If a lack of updates often turns you away, you should be well-catered for here since developer Snowprint Studios is committed to regularly bringing new content to the game.

Warhammer 40,000: Tacticus is available now on the App Store and Google Play as a free-to-play game. You can download it for your preferred platform using the links below.
