Trivial Pursuit returning to the mobile
EA to relaunch the quiz based franchise across multiple platforms

EA is set to bring Trivial Pursuit to multiple platforms (hopefully) in time for the big Christmas rush.
The classic family quiz game is to be released online through Pogo.com, across the consoles and also on the mobile platform. Previously this was a licence held by RealNetworks, which has really milked the franchise with some great renditions of the quiz game, so EA Mobile has some substantial shoes to fill.
"It promises to be an incredibly exciting year for Trivial Pursuit fans around the world," said Mark Blecher, general manager of Digital Media and Gaming at Hasbro.
"Trivial Pursuit will celebrate its 25th anniversary by breaking out of the box and landing on a variety of popular online, handheld and console formats allowing a test of wits showdown to unfold in the palm of your hand anytime, anyplace."
The first version will be released on Pogo.com, called Trivial Pursuit: Daily 20. Answering the questions correctly will earn you points toward acquiring wedges in pursuit of collecting all the pie pieces by the end of the week.
The console versions aren't expected to land until Spring 2009, however, while the mobile version is slated for a loose 'winter' launch schedule for the US, Asia and Europe.
The mobile version will feature two modes of play: collect wedges and fill your pie in Classic mode, or choose to race to the finish line in Pursuit mode. The game promises rich visuals, animations and sound effects.
This is a game that's been thoroughly explored on the mobile platform, of course, but being quiz based, updates are always welcome as we need a good supply of new questions to keep the game healthy. Hit the 'Track It!' button now to stay informed.
