The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin gears up for a CBT as new trailer drops during gamescom 2025
  • A new trailer was showcased during gamescom’s opening night
  • Registrations for a global CBT have opened
  • Next stop is the Tokyo Games Show in September

The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin has opened its doors for global Closed Beta Test registration, giving you the chance to step into Britannia before the official release. Netmarble revealed the news during gamescom 2025’s Opening Night Live, alongside a fresh trailer that showcases exploration, combat, and the sheer scale of its open world.

Narrated by Meliodas himself, 7DS: Origin’s trailer pulls you straight into Britannia with sweeping visuals and a mix of adventure and danger. You’re not just tied to the ground here. You can dive into underwater ruins, glide across the skies, or take a break with fishing and puzzle-solving.

The combat footage teases battles against towering enemies like Monster Albion and Gray Demons, all while showing off the fluid action system that lets you adapt your fighting style with different heroes.

This isn’t just a retelling of the manga or anime. The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin is building its own multiverse storyline, expanding on both The Seven Deadly Sins and Four Knights of the Apocalypse. That means you’ll collect familiar characters, but the way you shape their team dynamics and explore Britannia will be up to you.

Signing up for the closed beta is pretty straightforward. You just need to head to the official website, drop your email, and complete a quick survey. Netmarble will confirm the final participant list and exact dates later, but this is your best chance to experience the action early and influence how the RPG shapes up ahead of its 2025 release.

The reveal marks another big stage moment for The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin, which has already featured at Summer Game Fest and the Future Games Show earlier this year. With Tokyo Game Show lined up next, you're not wrong for thinking of it as one of the most anticipated releases of 2025.

While you wait, you can check out this list of the best RPGs to play on iOS right now!
