The Lord of the Rings: Heroes of Middle-earth, the character-collecting RPG from EA, is now available for iOS and Android
Electric Arts and Capital Games have announced that their character-collecting RPG, The Lord of the Rings: Heroes of Middle-earth is now available for iOS and Android. It promises a deep dive into Tolkien lore after the discovery of a new Ring of Power that can see across timelines and influence them.
That essentially means that you can assemble a team of some of the series' greatest heroes, including iconic characters like Gandalf the Grey and Frodo Baggins. As you would expect in this type of game, each hero brings something different to the battlefield with distinct abilities, meaning tactics are the key to victory alongside mixing and matching your squad to find good synergies between characters.
The story will take you through memorable moments across the series alongside new battles. That means at one point, you'll be meeting elves in Rivendell, and the next, battling the Nazgul at Weathertop. Beyond the campaign, Capital Games says new characters and events will be a regular occurrence to expand the game's roster and lore.
Discussing the game, Nicolas Reinhart, Game Director at Capital Games, said: “Our vision for The Lord of the Rings: Heroes of Middle-earth invites players to shape a brand new narrative around the powers of the new Ring of Power with endless possibilities.”
“We wanted to give players a space to explore one of the most diverse, inclusive and story-rich version of Middle-earth where they can assemble beloved heroes, shine a spotlight on characters referenced but never shown before in the literature, and even upgrade and modify their characters to elevate the way players interact with their squads.”
