Subway Surfers debuts new Veggie Hunt event to encourage players to eat their greens
Eating green, for yourself and the planet

- Subway Surfers' latest event is here with Veggie Hunt
- Collect vegetable ingredients to create the perfect sandwich and unlock a new veggie-themed character
- It also brings new food-themed boards to the game
Hey, you're an adult now, and nobody can tell you what to eat! If you want to have ice cream for dinner, you can. But, fortunately, Subway Surfers is intent on saving you from your own poor life choices with the new Veggie Hunt event. Announced today and launching on August 26th, it's made to encourage players to eat healthy and environmentally consciously, through the medium of subway surfing.
But how does it work? Well, as you run you'll be able to collect a variety of veggie ingredients like tomatoes, avocadoes and lettuce. Once you've collected enough, you can put them all together to create a full sandwich and unlock an all-new veggie-themed playable character named Billy Bean.
Naturally, Subway Surfers' social media will be getting in on the action as well, encouraging players to share their favourite meat-free recipes online, and their own real-life recreations of the sandwich featured in Veggie Hunt. The event is being run as part of the Playing for the Planet Alliance’s Green Game Jam 2024 which runs it annually to encourage studios to add sustainability-focused events to their games.

Sure it's not exactly the coolest event ever, but it's important to remember Subway Surfers was, and will probably remain, geared towards kids. So even if you're a fan who's been playing since they were younger, you'll hopefully still gain something from these sorts of Cartoon Special events. Still, it's always good to put a bit of greenery in your diet, and be conscious of how it affects the planet, although I'd be a bit worried if it takes a game to convince you of that.
