In case you missed it, Whitethorn Games has revealed the upcoming launch of SkateFish, the studio's colourful game where you catch fish by trying to impress them (because why not?). Revealed alongside a vast roster of titles at the Whitethorn Games 2023 Winter Showcase yesterday, the game tasks you with flipping and grinding your way across ledges to ramp up your reputation and - as is the obvious end goal here - catch yourself a boatload of fish to spruce up the local aquarium.

From the premise alone, SkateFish already seems like an appealing endeavour, mainly because there likely hasn't been any other game in history that's attempted to combine skating and fishing in a single mobile game. Developed by the makers of BOMBFEST, the game offers simple touch controls that let you perform sick tricks in the air to catch fish.

To add to this, you can express your colourful personality by customising your character, as well as personalising your board and fishing rod. You can also take your pick from a variety of environments, aim to catch different species of fish, and attempt to clear different obstacles depending on where you are.

There's no word yet on an official release date for this, but if you're keen on learning more about the quirky little title, you can discover more info on SkateFish on the official website for now. You can also learn more about the developer if you're curious about the studio's other games, or take a little sneak peek at the embedded clip above to get a feel of the game's vibes.
