More macabre mayhem

Servant of the Lake unveils teaser trailer ahead of Rusty Lake's launch next year
  • Play as a servant of the Vanderboom estate
  • Unravel the family's dark secrets
  • Point-and-click puzzlers galore

Rusty Lake has unveiled Servant of the Lake at gamescom this week, offering a sneak peek at the upcoming surreal adventure that the studio is known for. Similar to The Mr. Rabbit Magic Show, this unnerving foray into point-and-click puzzlers will have you taking on the role of the titular servant, and as you go about your day-to-day tasks, you'll eventually unravel a host of dark secrets that might just be above your pay grade.

Long working hours aside, your duties as a servant of the Vanderboom estate not only mean cooking food and cleaning the house - it also apparently means keeping mum about certain things the family would rather keep under wraps. Things aren't always what they seem on the surface, after all.

Your duties will ramp up and escalate really quickly too, it seems, as you'll be asked to do everything from the mundane to the absurd. Straighten the family portraits and do the laundry one moment, then aid the family in their odd experiments the next.

All these are complemented by an immersive soundscape composed and performed by Victor Butzelaar to really up the ante.
