Sega Football Club Champions 2025 is a new multiplatform sports sim coming this year

Sega Football Club Champions 2025 is a new multiplatform sports sim coming this year
  • Sega Football Club Champions 2025 has been announced, coming this year
  • It's a brand-new sports sim, but it's got more than a few ties to the past
  • This entry is seemingly based on the Football Manager engine, and the Japanese series SakaTsuku

With football being one of the most popular sports worldwide, it's no surprise that it's popular in gaming. But with Football Manager 2025 being cancelled for the foreseeable future, those looking for a high-level take on the sport have been left in the cold. Until now, that is, as Sega have announced Football Club Champions 2025!

This multiplatform football simulator is an oddity for multiple reasons. Not only is it apparently powered by Football Manager, but it's also technically the latest entry in a previously Japan-only series called SakaTsuku. All that being said, however, there's a lot here for simulator fans to enjoy.

Football Club Champions 2025 follows your team's journey from a local side all the way to the big leagues, and features both a Career Mode dedicated to simulating every aspect of this journey, as well as a Dream Team mode for dedicated PvP matches and more.

Aside from those obvious features, FCC25 also features plenty of real-life players and teams from across the European and Asian leagues, and beyond. Pre-registration is now open for Sega Football Club Champions 2025, and sign-ups are also available for the closed beta taking place between the 19th and 30th of June.

As for what this means for the Football Manager franchise now that their parent company is stepping into the same field, it could be that we'll find out more once we uncover when exactly the next entry in the FM franchise is going to release, if at all.

But in the meantime, if FCC25 doesn't seem like your bag, why not check out some of the other top sports sims out there? We've compiled our own list of the top 20+ sports games on iOS and Android with everything from action-packed arcade fun to granular simulationist action for fans of all kinds of athletic competition.
