Indie developer Alexander Lerman has just revealed their latest project, RYFT: A Timely Manor, an audio-based adventure where you navigate using only your voice. Instead of tapping or clicking, you speak commands to explore rooms, examine objects, and solve puzzles. As you move through the manor, a full voice cast brings the story to life, immersing you in a world where every sound matters.
You wake up in a strange mansion with no memory of how you got there. In your pocket, a stone tablet covered in mysterious symbols offers the only clue. Around you, the Nexus Manor stretches into the unknown, existing outside of time itself. To escape, you’ll need to explore its twisting corridors, interact with its trapped residents, and uncover the secrets hidden within.
The manor is home to an eccentric staff, all of whom serve someone known only as The Master. They don’t seem to know much about why they’re there, only that they can’t leave. As you investigate, you come across a series of recordings from a voice you recognize. A girl has uncovered something sinister and is in trouble, and it’s up to you to help her.
Solving puzzles means more than just following prompts. You can pick up and combine items, experiment with different approaches, and interact naturally with the world. There’s no multiple-choice menu - it’s just your voice and the choices you make. The atmosphere is further enhanced by the detailed sound design and music, making it feel like you're part of an interactive radio drama.
