Rocket League Sideswipe: How to do air rolls?

If you are coming from Rocket League, you probably want to do some air rolls in Rocket League Sideswipe as well, but it’s not as straightforward in the mobile version. Sideswipe is an entirely different game, though the objective of scoring more goals than opponents before the timer runs out remains the same, everything else from the graphics and controls to the gameplay is different.

In this post, we will assume that you have played at least a couple of Rocket League Sideswipe matches and have a good idea of what it’s about. (If in doubt, check out our first impressions article to get a brief idea). We will now be discussing how to do air rolls in Rocket League Sideswipe.

Sideswipe air roll

What is an air roll?

If you are new to the Rocket League universe, then let us tell you that by air rolls, we mean rotating the car on a horizontal axis while it is airborne. Though there aren’t many benefits to air rolls in Rocket League Sideswipe, it looks pretty sick. However, some claim that, just like in Rocket League, in Sideswipe air rolls give you even more control of your car and make boost management easier.

How to do air rolls in Rocket League Sideswipe?

In Sideswipe, you have to enable air rolls, and that’s pretty much it. However, the game’s tutorials will never teach you how to do so. But don’t worry. As always, we’ve got your back. Enabling air rolls is a pretty straightforward process, and when you do it once, we bet you can always do it as and when you wish. Here is a step-by-step guide on doing air rolls in Rocket League Sideswipe:

  • Start a match
  • Now you need to double-tap the direction joystick in any direction when you are either grounded or airborne
  • It will now make your car twist and turn on its horizontal axis immediately when you are airborne

Down below we have also attached a video tutorial to explain better.

Once you leave your movement joysticks, the air rolls will stop, and you will once again have to repeat the process if you want to do them again.
