Tip #1 - Spend Gems on extra building queue

When you start building for the first time, you will be able to use a secondary building queue. The first one is a free 15-minute extra building queue, which you should employ ASAP. Then I recommend you spend 1000 Gems on the 2-day building queue. It's much more efficient than spending 1500 Gems for ONE single pull.

The secondary building queue is going to be huge in the early game, mainly because the upgrades don't take that much time, and it will let you farm CP like crazy. You want to upgrade every building you have quickly and then max out your Mansion.

Tip #2 - When battling, use the hero skills smartly

If you are fighting in the Campaign mode, I suggest you use manual battle. Of course, auto battle works too, but with Manual battle, you can use skills the way you want to. You can time them well so that you can clear waves in one go.

It's not much, but it will pay off later on when, instead of waiting for a skill's cooldown because auto mode wasted it on one enemy, you will be able to use it on a bunch of infected.

Tip #3 - Join an Alliance ASAP

players belonging to same alliance in the world map

The moment you are able to join an Alliance, do it.

An Alliance is like a guild, where other players help each other reduce building time. The more upgraded an Alliance, the faster those upgrades will go. Request and offer help every time you see an Alliance mate needing it.

The best part about these base builder games is that the moment you join an Alliance, you're safe - as long as you stay active, at least. You can relocate your base close to your Alliance, and that way, no other players will attack you.

Tip #4 - Upgrade all your buildings ASAP

The one thing I found most useful is upgrading everything to its max level BEFORE upgrading the Mansion level. This lets you keep track of everything, and most importantly, gives you that additional CP that you can use to challenge the next Campaign stage.

You should always max everything before moving on to the Mansion, since normal buildings take a lot less time than the Mansion does. The Mansion can take up hours or days, while the buildings only take at most a few hours.

This way, you won't keep your building queue busy while you're active, and you can do upgrades too - something I want to emphasise with this Resident Evil Survival Unit guide.

Also, while you're at it, you should start the most time-consuming upgrades right before you sign off for the day.

Tip #5 - Upgrade your heroes!

Try to level up the heroes you have as much as you can. Mainly, I suggest you focus on the Legendary (if you have any) and Epic heroes. These are the ones that will keep you progressing in the Campaign mode the most.

You should check our Resident Evil Survival Unit tier list to see which ones are worth your resources and which ones you should avoid. As a general rule of thumb, anything A tier and above is good. The rest... not so much.

Make sure you star them up, and whenever you have enough Skill Books for the hero you're using, upgrade their skills too.

Tip #6 - Manage your resources

inventory with all the resources gathered

If you ever feel like you're running out of resources, just open your Inventory and go to the Resources tab. You will have several bundles there that you can use. I suggest you open these early on, so that you can have enough for all the upgrades. Later on in the end-game, you should keep them in your inventory and just open them as needed.

The reasoning behind this is that when you get to the PvP stages (or Alliance vs Alliance), you might lose some resources to players attacking your base. Players sometimes resort to this to gather more resources - they basically attack weaker players and loot their base.

Don't let this discourage you; if your resources are stashed in your inventory, they can't touch them.

Tip #7 - When stuck, go for missions (Main and Chapter)

all the missions

If your queues are busy and you don't know what to do next, just check the missions you can complete. Go for Main/Daily/Chapter missions, and see which of them you can complete. You should be able to do at least a couple of them, which still gives you a small push.

Always keep track of what these missions ask you to do, since that's the fastest way to progress. At the same time, you won't fall behind in completing them.

Oh, and the dailies, make sure you do them every single day. Every. Single. Day. No excuses. You will get 1 Special Flare Gun by completing all of them, which slowly add up - every 10 days you'll be able to do a full 10 summon, which is how you get those Legendaries.

Tip #8 - More tips & tricks for Resident Evil Survival Unit

log in rewards
  • Interact with characters when you see chat bubbles - this gives you extra combat power.
  • Use Speed-ups only when needed. I would suggest using them only for the mansion upgrade, later on in the game. Early on, when it still takes a few hours, it's not that urgent.
  • Log in every day for the bonus event rewards.
  • Sync your account to your Google/Facebook or whatever else you have. This gives you 500 free Gems!
  • Spend your Gems on upgrading your VIP level/benefits. It's the best possible place to spend your Gems, other than hiring more builders.
